About Us

Why We Exists

The P.O.P. Movement has a specific purpose—to eradicate poverty and the devastating effects it causes. The P.O.P. Movement and its consortium of business partners provides job training, supports entrepreneurship, and promotes business development to create jobs mainly at risk and impoverished communities nationwide.
Our goal is to create a minimum of one million jobs, 200,000 new entrepreneurs and strengthen countless numbers of existing businesses throughout the country within the next 4-7 years.

Mound Bayou, MS is where it all began

The city of Mound Bayou, Mississippi was established in 1887. Pioneer founders I. T. Montgomery and Benjamin Green had the vision that established it as the state’s first all-black town, complete with social, economic, and political freedom. Under the leadership of Montgomery and Green, the former swamp-like area was transformed into a colony filled with potential for growth. Due to their vision, Mound Bayou was envisioned as a sanctuary for all families and became known as the “Jewel of the Delta.”

About Us

Mound Bayou, MS and the A.M.E. Church

Unfortunately, that vision is no longer accurate in Mound Bayou. That is why you are cordially invited to encourage your community leaders to join us as we begin our journey revitalizing at-risk and impoverished areas all across America—the goal of the P.O.P. 360 Community Restoration Project—restoring similarly economically and socially impacted areas to their former or new days of glory. The 360 Community Resource Project has been inspired by and rooted in the history of Mound Bayou, MS and the Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church.” We pay homage to our ancestors and forefathers, bringing back to life the dreams they had for their legacies, coming together for one goal and the common good for all. These people will be called ‘New Day Pioneers’ and will lead the way in this historic movement to eliminate at-risk and impoverished areas and revitalizing the world.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 13985

A CHANGE HAS FINALLY COME FOR UNDER-SERVED COMMUNITIES

On the first day in office., President Biden signed Executive Order 13985, Advancing Racial, Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government.

It is therefore the policy of my Administration that the Federal Government should pursue a comprehensive approach to advancing equity for all, including people of color and others who have been historically under-served, marginalized, and adversely affected by persistent poverty and inequality. Affirmatively advancing equity, civil rights, racial justice, and equal opportunity is the responsibility of the whole of our government.

The Order recognized that although the idea of equal opportunity is the bedrock of American democracy, entrenched disparities in our laws, public policies, and institutions too often deny equal opportunity to individuals and communities. The President’s Order emphasized the enormous human costs of systemic racism, persistent poverty, and other disparities, and directed the Federal Government to advance an ambitious whole-of-government equity agenda that matches the scale of the challenges we face as a country and the opportunities we have to build a more perfect union.
